1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 11k ORIIGNAL MILES ONE OWNER! VERY RARE Price: $24,995 Anticipation became realization - the " King of Hill" had arrived. In the Mind 80's, General Motors and its Corvette Division approached Group Lotus in Great Britain with the idea of developing the worlds fastest production car. From that collaboration came the LT5 engine, an aluminum block V8 with the same bore as the standard L98 350 unit, but with 375 hp. To accomplish this power boost, the new block featured four overhead camshafts and 32 Valves. The LT5's were built by Mercury Marine in Oklahoma and assembled into the ZR-1 at Bowling Green. A unique computerized engine control module provided "Bi-Modal" characteristics. This dual personality was a logical outgrowth of the appeal of the Twin-Turbo Callaway Conversions. The ZR-1 could be routine street driving or convert into a race car with speed an handling on demand. The computer system directed fuel mixtures through and upgraded injection system that allowed for low, half and full throttle modes and kicked the engine up to 375hp. The key operated "Valet" switch locked out the upper speed ranges, limiting power to 250hp to prevent inexperienced hands form taking advantage of the cars outstanding power. Available only in coupe configuration, the ZR-1 was distinguishable from other Corvette coupes by its wider tail section which was approximately 4" inches wider then standard Vettes. rear 11 inch wheels and its new convex rear fascia and four squared taillights. The ZR-1 did not come cheap. The price sticker for the basic coupe was $31,979, the ZR-1 performance package option was listed $27,016 by itself, the car was ever meant for the faint of heart or bargain-conscious. This particular car was $60,690 in 1990. The dealers were demanding over list pricing of the ZR-1's and this car totaled $79,959.90. It was reported some dealers were asking and were paid over 100k for ZR-1's. Once these cars hit the streets and the word was out you couldn't find one anywhere with only 3,049 units built it was only a lucky few who got them. We have all the original paperwork and documents including books, brouchures, purchasing check, ZR-1 Box with Key Ring and Video everything as you would have got in 1990.
